About Us

Hi! I'm Jessica, the proud founder of Home Away Animal Care, where every wag, purr, and chirp is met with love and care.   

My journey began back in 2018, that's when I decided to turn my passion into a profession. My mission with Home Away Animal Careis simple: provide pet parents with peace of mind and their furry friends with the love and attention they deserve.

Growing up in an animal-loving family,my childhood was a wild adventure filled with dogs, cats, horses, and even an iguana! After pursuing a career in the business world, I found myself yearning for something more fulfilling.

I reside in Wadsworth with my husband Mike and our blended family,  including our amazing daughters and a whole crew of beloved pets, from our sweet hound dog, two spunky  cats, a small flock of friendly chickens. In my freetime I enjoy riding horses and traveling.

 Kirsten is a student are College of Lake County, majoring in English.  Shehas been a fantastic addition to our team. She has truly become an integral part of our family. Her eagerness and excitement to connect with new pet friends and care for them as if they were her own shine through in everything she does.  

 Brenda is a retired recreation therapist who had the pleasure of integrating her passions into her career. She taught horseback riding to individuals with special needs and owned a therapy dog. As a dedicated pet owner, she regards her pets as family and pledges to extend the same care to others' pets. Her approach focuses on understanding each pet's distinct needs, ensuring safety, and fostering a stimulating environment. She lives in Third Lake with her husband Bill, their dogs Sage and Cooper, and cats Theodora, Alexis, and Moira. 

Tianna is a part-time college student. She has volunteered at rescues and is a Certified Fear Free™ Professional, specializing in techniques to minimize fear, anxiety, and stress for pets. This certification, established by veterinary and pet professionals, ensures pets receive care in a calm and stress-free environment, adding assurance to pet owners. For Home Away Animal Care, having a Fear Free Professional, means offering an extra layer of assurance to clients that their pets are receiving the utmost care in a stress-minimized environment. It aligns perfectly with being empathetic, understanding, and building strong relation-ships with pets and their owners. Tianna is currently expanding her knowledge in canine wellness by studying canine massage at Canis Bodyworks. She hopes to one day start her own practice.  In her free time, she likes to visit her parent's cats, go on walks and read books 

 Paige resides in Antioch and is a true dog enthusiast. She’s not just passionate about pets; she’s also a proud fur parent to four adorable doggies: Sooney, Bentley, Artemis, and Apollo.  When she’s not busy showering our furry friends with love and care, Paige enjoys soaking up the sun and relishing the great outdoors. You might spot her on a leisurely walk or treating herself to some delicious ice cream. With her genuine love for dogs and unwavering dedication to their well-being, Paige brings a wealth of positive energy and reliable care to every wag-worthy adventure.  

  Linda has been married for 28 years and has three kids, with only one left at home. Her family also consists of dogs, cats, and chinchillas. She works part-time in a bookshop in Grayslake. She loves reading and going on walks while listening to music and audiobooks. She is punctual, patient, and kind. She can’t wait to dote on your dog and looks forward to making your life easier
